How to choose forged threaded fittings
Forged C.S threaded fittings are listed in CL1000, CL2000, CL3000 and CL6000 from ½" to 4". Buyers often ask for these as 3000 psi or 6000 psi fittings. The range covers 45° and 90° elbows, 90° reducing elbows, equal and reducing tees, full and half couplings, reducer sockets, unions, equal crosses, end caps, plugs and reducer bushes. Reducing tees, reducer sockets and reducer bushes run from ⅜" × ¼" to 4" × 3".

Threaded forged fittings suit small-bore lines that need to come apart for maintenance, such as instrument, drain and vent connections. Pick the class to match the pipe wall, and use a union wherever you will need to break the line. Always confirm the thread form, because NPT and BSPT do not seal reliably together.

Is class 3000 the same as 3000 psi?
Not exactly. Class 3000 is an ASME B16.11 class name. The pressure a fitting can take depends on the pipe schedule, material and temperature.

Tell us which thread you need when you order. NPT and BSPT look alike but do not seal reliably together.
