How to choose a gate valve

Flanged (F/T) gate valves come in C.S (ASTM A216 WCB), CL150 and CL300, from ½" to 16", and S.S (ASTM A351) in SS304 (CF8) or SS316 (CF8M), PN16, CL150 and CL300, from ½" to 12". Forged C.S (A105, CL150 or CL300) and forged S.S (A182, PN16 or CL150) flanged gate valves run from ½" to 2". C.I (PN10 or PN16) and D.I (PN10 to PN25) gate valves run from 1" to 16", and a D.I grooved gate valve, 300 PSI or PN16, from 2½" to 8".

Knife edge gate valves, 2" to 12", come wafer, lug or flanged in PN10, PN16 or CL150, with a C.I, D.I, C.S or S.S body and an SS304 or SS316 blade. Threaded options are brass (½" to 4") and bronze (½" to 2") in PN10 to PN25, BSP or NPT, and S.S at 200# up to 4". Forged S.S F304/F316 (600 WOG) and forged steel A105 (Class 800 or CL150) gate valves have SW or NPT ends, ½" to 2".

A gate valve is for on/off isolation: run it fully open or fully closed. To regulate flow, use a globe valve.

Questions buyers ask

Do you have CS gate valves in class 300?

Yes. Our C.S gate valve with WCB body is listed in CL150 and CL300, flanged, from ½" to 16". The forged C.S (A105) flanged gate valve comes in the same classes from ½" to 2". Send the size and quantity on WhatsApp for a quote.

Can I use a gate valve to control flow?

No. A gate valve should be fully open or fully closed. For throttling, choose a globe valve; we list them in CS, SS, CI, DI and forged steel.

Do you have knife edge gate valves?

Yes. They are listed from 2" to 12", wafer, lug or flanged, in PN10, PN16 or CL150, with a cast iron, ductile iron, carbon steel or stainless body and an SS304 or SS316 blade.

Do you deliver outside Dubai?

Yes. We deliver anywhere in the UAE for orders from AED 5,000. Smaller orders can be collected from our Al Quoz counter.
