How to choose a butterfly valve

We list C.I body butterfly valves (EN-GJL-250, ASTM A126) from 1½" to 12". The wafer type comes with a DI disc or an S.S disc in PN10 and PN16. The lug type has an S.S disc and is listed in PN16 and CL150. Gear operated wafer and lug type valves, with a D.I or S.S disc, are listed in PN10, PN16 and CL150 from 2" to 12".

Butterfly valves are short, light and quick to open, so they suit water and cooling lines where a gate valve would be heavy. A gear operator turns the disc with a handwheel, which makes larger valves easier to open, close and hold part-open. A wafer body is clamped between two flanges. Choose the lug type if you need to take off the pipe on one side while the other side stays in service. An S.S disc gives more corrosion resistance than a DI disc.

Match the valve to the flanges it sits between: PN16 and CL150 drilling are not the same at most sizes, so check the mating flange before you order.
